I have been reading this book [Techno Rebels by Dan Sicko] on techno and the Detroit culture and subculture scene. There were a number of seminal techno tracks by some of the greatest minds pushing an otherworldy sound that they were completely convinced would change music history. Well, I hope they were right. Wait, I know they were.
Recently, Joseph and I were very privileged to attend the 10th year of the music festival in the big D, known as D.E.M.F. to some, MOVEMENT to others. As he posted earlier, this was a milestone in both of our lives, musically and culturally. I could post a track by each person, group or DJ that blew us both away but I wanted to show how far we’ve come since this definitive compilation that ‘started it all’ came out by a group of souls from Detroit.
